Magan-Texas Woman’s University-Denton

“A STAR student is a student who is very hardworking and is willing to try his or her very best to make others proud. The STAR Sponsorship Program has helped me in many different ways. One way that it has helped me was by helping my parents pay for my tuition, as well as challenging me to do the ultimate best I can inside and outside of school. All the studying and hard work was worth it because I like feeling proud of my accomplishments.

Looking back at my good grades makes me think about all the time and effort I placed into studying. To know that I was accountable each quarter for my grades, effort, attendance, and conduct meant that I was to try my hardest to be successful in all areas. My grades were more than just numbers to me because I knew that every single grade I received counted. I believe that effort is very important because showing effort in everything allows everyone to see how hard you are willing to work. My attendance in school is very important as well. I have learned that class time is very valuable. Each moment I miss in class means I miss out on an opportunity to learn something new.”           Magan

Magan attended St. Andrew Catholic School where she received the Math Award for the top student. She graduated from Paschal High School in May 2020, and received the Terry Foundation scholarship to attend Texas Woman’s University as a nursing major.
