Ly attended St. George Catholic School and Nolan Catholic High School. She was accepted into the prestigious Texas Academy of Math and Science. The Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science is a unique and highly competitive two-year residential early entrance college program serving high school juniors and seniors at the University of North Texas. She graduated from TAMS in 2008. Ly went on to get her BS at Rice University and then the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston where she received her MD in May of 2015. She is currently a Urologist in Houston, Texas.
